2011 Wapiti Valley Rally

We recently had meetings to hammer out some new ideas for our upcoming 5th annual Wapiti Valley Rally which will be on June18,2011.
To date the rally will start with registration at the Wapiti Valley Chalet on Saturday morning at around 7:30 and continue until we start the ride. So far we have changed the ride somewhat to try and go into a few other communities and pick up more exposure to our ride. We are planning to travel to Melfort onto Star City then to Tisdale for lunch stop and refuel the bikes and restrooms, then we will ride to Crooked River, past Zenon Park, then a stop in Arborfield then across to Gronlid, and a finish back to the Chalet for supper and evening activities.
More details to follow as details come together.Check back for updates.
Anyone needing a cabin or campsite for Friday or Saturday please contact us as soon as possible because they are on a 1st come 1st served basis.

Wapiti Valley Rally 2010

Finally I got some time to update this blog.

With all the rain we had this past summer most riders didn't get to put a lot of miles on their bikes.Couple of us did get to travel to Sturgis S.D. for a week of riding and see some of the sites. We did get lucky on June 19 temp was in the 20's with sunshine. The roads were good ,everything looked so lush with all the rain.We had an accident free rally considering we had 104 registered bikes from Manitoba, Alberta and all over Saskatchewan. Some rode for 4-5 hours to get here, some for the first time, others haven't missed our rally since we started. Next year we are going to book more cabins and campsites so people have places to stay.
We started the rally from Wapiti Valley Resort which is 1/2 hour ride north of city of Melfort,Sask. right beside the beautiful Saskatchewan River Valley, which has some of the best pickerel fishing in North America.
The rally started at noon and wound our way through the valley to Choiceland for fuel stop, onto White -fox,over the river into Nipawin then onto Gronlid to the Bears Den which is a very unique stop, then onto the chalet at Wapiti Valley for an evening of steak supper corn on the cob baked potatoes and some wobbly pops. An evening social followed along with music and a meet and greet took up the rest of the evening. Many door prizes were awarded along with a silent hand auction of a original framed "Easyriders" theatre poster that raised $ 900.00
New friends were made, everyone had a great ride and a good time.
Those riders that stayed overnight at the campsite were treated to an awesome breakfast prepared by our local gymnastic club. With many hugs and kisses we all parted to ride another day, with a very satisfied feeling that we had a great rally and are planning to make it better for next year.
